Lauren Lerant Dancer

Lauren Lerant is a professional dancer from Ajax, Ontario. She began her love for dance at age four and developed a passion to perform by age twelve. Lauren has received her BFA at Point Park University’s Conservatory for Performing Arts, as well as her minor in Entrepreneurship in Pittsburgh PA. She has had the opportunity to work with Ronald Tassone, Jim Cooney, Mark Burrell, Matt Pardo, Jason McDole, Parsons Dance, and many others, who helped develop her strengths and guided her towards her future career.

Lauren has had the opportunity to work in film as well as stage. She was cast in the American Girl Movie: Isabelle Dances into the Spotlight as the dance body double for Grace Davidson. Lauren has been a professional dancer for Holland America Line and Norwegian Cruise Line, traveling to over thirty countries around the world. She has toured twice to Sharjah, Dubai for Creativiva’s productions of Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella (choreography by Jeff Dimitriou). Lauren has performed works with a plethora of choreographers including David Norsworthy, Madboots, Terrance Marling, Ruben Graciani, Kiesha Lalama, and many others at The George Rowland Performance Theatre, and The Byham Theater. She has also had the privilege to perform at the Pittsburgh Playhouse in the musical The Boyfriend as Pierette the mime, based on the Broadway musical starring Julie Andrews. Additionally, she has had the opportunity to work with Michael Rupert and Jim Cooney in the musical Sweet Charity, based on the broadway musical starring Gwen Verdon. Lauren was overjoyed to play her dream role as the Lead Frug originally directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse.

Lauren has taught several master classes as a guest choreographer in studios around the Toronto area. She has set works on competitive studios while she is home between her professional contacts. She continues to explore many avenues of dance by taking classes, wishing to familiarize herself with different choreographic styles and grow as an artist. She is excited to continue her professional career and inspire others to follow their dreams.
